Atlanta-based Director of Photography and videojournalist, John Falchetto specializes in documentary, true crime, and nonfiction storytelling.

With more than two decades of international experience, his work blends cinematic craft with the instincts of a field journalist — shaped by years covering breaking news, political unrest, and real-world events across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Before moving into long-form television and documentary cinematography, John worked extensively in international news, often operating solo in fast-moving and unpredictable environments. That background continues to define his approach: grounded visuals, observational storytelling, and an ability to capture authentic moments under pressure.

His recent work includes Philly Homicide (Oxygen), Deadly Waters (Oxygen), The Delphi Murders (Court TV), Top Gear (BBC), and The Open Road (National Geographic), along with projects for Hulu, Paramount, NBC, and BBC Panorama. His work on Philly Homicide contributed to a Critics Choice Real TV Award nomination in 2025.

John is particularly known for cinematic interviews, vérité-driven shooting, and visually restrained nonfiction storytelling that prioritizes character and atmosphere over spectacle.

He holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from the American University in Cairo.

Based in Atlanta, he works across the U.S. and internationally on documentary series, true crime, and premium nonfiction productions.
