BBC Top Gear uses drone to capture aerial video

During a recent shoot with the amazing Top Gear UK team we captured some aerial shots of a very fast car and a big big car.

Aerial video of a very fast car

We had to capture aerial shots of the new Porsche 918 Spyder. A monster of a car whose V8 rips from 0 to 100km/h in less than 3 seconds!

Needless to say keeping up with that beast was not easy but our multi-copter managed to get some stunning aerial shots of the car being driven around the Yas Marina Formula 1 Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

As the car burned rubber around the circuit we positioned ourselves at strategic locations to be able to get the aerial shot the director wanted. The great thing about the Abu Dhabi Yas Marina circuit is the fact that with the lights on we can operate as if we were in the middle of the day. A truly amazing experience.

It’s a real pleasure to watch a very experienced production team which has been shooting episodes of Top Gear for years and know their job inside out.

Aerial video of a very big car

There is a big bridge in Abu Dhabi called the bridge to nowhere, simply because it leads to an empty island. The bridge became the setting for the aerial shoot of the Top Gear episode featuring the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6, yes that means 3 wheels on each side.
