Aerial filming around the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai
A beautiful morning on the Palm gave us the perfect setting for aerial filming around the Palm and the Aquaventure park. The shoot was for an episode of Challenge 24, the current top Chinese game show.
As the name implies contestants are given 24hrs to solve a long series of challenges in different iconic areas of Dubai.
This morning from 8am to 10am they had to read a riddle hidden inside the slide of the Atlantis Aquaventure slide and then give the answer at the bottom.
Not an easy task for these sleep deprived reality show celebrities.
Aerial filming above Dubai
The first shot of the day was an aerial establisher shot of the water park and the Palm Jumeirah.
The DJI Inspire X5 did a great job. Early in the morning we didn’t need to use ND filters and the rising sun gave some good bookeh.
All the aerial shots were done in 4K with the great micro 4:3 camera and a 15mm lens (equivalent to 30mm)
Capable of recording 4K (3840 x 2160) videos in RAW at up to 30fps, the drone gives you the ability to capture every video with all of its original data intact, giving you complete control to edit every single frame in post as a RAW file.
Coupled with a maximum bitrate of an astonishing 2.4Gbps, the 4K videos will amaze you with a level of detail and clarity that’s absolutely unmatched by any other aerial camera.
Aerial filming permits in Dubai
The shoot was the result of weeks of planning to obtain filming permits for iconic locations such as the Burj Khalifa, Burj Al Arab, Madinat Jumeirah and the Atlantis.
Thankfully we got all the permits for the TV production crew and were even able to secure aerial filming permits at great locations within a very tight deadline.
